The Bright Young People...

I- or rather, my alter ego Sally Suger-Boules- spent last Sunday on Governor's Island at the Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party...it was absolutely smashing. We danced the Charleston to the sounds of Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra, and drank prohibition-status Champagne that I smuggled to the Island in my handbag all afternoon. I- or rather, Sally- had my photo snapped by several shutterbugs throughout the day, which was an indulgence I am not used to (usually, I'm on the other side of the camera), but certainly enjoyed.

Being a romantic myself, I am still waiting to see my own photos from the event, which I shot with the Lomo Lubitel, as well as my Lomo LC-A. It was a grand old time, and it was SO nice to be amongst like-minded individuals who embrace anachronism in the face of an exponentially changing modern landscape. It's led me to formulate a hypothesis about New York City- This is a place where there's a club for just about anyone and anything. Chin-Chin!
